Integrity, use and care of long-lasting insecticidal nets in Kirinyaga County, Kenya

Abstract Background Vector control is an essential component in prevention and of malaria endemic areas. Insecticide treated nets one the standard tools recommended for vector control. The objective study was to determine physical integrity insecticidal potency long-lasting (LLINs) used Kirinyaga County, Kenya. Method targeted households area which had received LLINs during mass net distribution 2016 from Ministry Health. A total 420 were sampled using systematic sampling method, where household heads consented participate study. semi-structured questionnaire administered assess care use while examination integrity. Chemical concentration determined by gas chromatography spectroscopy (GC-MS). Data analysis done Statistical Package Social Sciences (SPSS) version 19.
